TAKE A MOMENT TO
MEET BR. DAVID!
What's your favorite prayer?
The Angelus! It is a lovely way to begin, reflect at noon, and end each day.
What is a food combination people eat that you just can’t get behind?
Certain leftovers for breakfast are not okay. The greatest offense I've seen in this category is wonton soup for breakfast... Don't do it. Don't disrespect breakfast like that.
If you could share a meal with any 4 individuals, living or dead, who would you pick?
1. John Paul II
2. Leonard Bernstein
3. Scott Joplin
4. The magician Paul Daniels.
If you could join any past or current music group, which would you pick?
Vulfpeck would be a lot of fun to join - their music gets real funky.
TIPS FROM BR. DAVID:
What's something you wish you knew earlier about discernment?
Discernment happens one step at a time. What is God calling me to do next? It is a really big step to act based on the wonder if one is called to the priesthood, but discerning whether or not to visit a community to see how Dominicans live is a much more actionable step with lower stakes. Spend your time discerning what opportunities God is inviting you to choose in the present.
Any words of encouragement?
Stay close to the sacraments, prayer, and our Mother Mary when you are filled with questions about your vocation. Seek out the assistance of a spiritual director for continued guidance in your discernment.
