"While I was discerning, a Dominican Sister told me, 'Give the best years of your life to Jesus and you won't be disappointed.'"

TAKE A MOMENT TO
MEET
BR. THOMAS!

What's your favorite prayer?

The Salve Regina, sung according to the ancient Dominican chant.

If you could be taught by any deceased Dominican, who would you pick? What question(s) would you ask him or her? (Friar, Sister, Lay Fraternity, etc.)

If I could be taught by any deceased Dominican, I would pick Blessed Jordan of Saxony. I would love to ask him how he thinks I could cultivate my interior life and a great zeal for souls.

What's the most interesting or pointless fact you know?

Pope John Paul II was made an honorary Harlem Globetrotter.

What game show do you think you could win, and why?

"The Price is Right"; I think I have a really good intuition about how much things cost.

TIPS FROM BR. THOMAS:

How old were you when you realized you wanted to pursue Religious Life? What was that process like for you?

I had just graduated from college when I perceived a call to ministry in the Church, but I wasn't sure where to explore my vocation. Shortly thereafter, I got connected with the Dominican Vocations Promoter, and after going on a Come and See weekend, I was sure of my place in the Dominican Order.

Any words of encouragement?

While I was discerning, a Dominican Sister told me, "Give the best years of your life to Jesus and you won't be disappointed". I offer the same advice to anyone discerning our way of life. Jesus loves you immensely and desires what is good for you. Provided you stay close to Him in prayer and the sacraments, the Lord will bless the vocational decisions you make.
